The Joslyn Castle: 3902 Davenport Street:  Don’t miss seeing the Joslyn Castle.  Development of the Joslyn land began in 1893 making it one of the oldest estates in the historic district.  The Castle is open for public tours.  It is also available for private parties, weddings, corporate meetings, and any other event requiring a beautiful and unique surrounding.  For tour or rental information, go to www.joslyncastle.com

Saint Cecilia Cathedral:  Dominating the Omaha skyline are the towers of the Saint Cecilia Cathedral, the most photographed historic building in Omaha, located at 701 North 40th Street.  Besides being an architectural gem, the cathedral houses an excellent collection of Spanish Colonial art.  Schedule a tour of the beautiful cathedral and its art gallery by contacting Kathy at kawhite@archomaha.org  or call Kathy at 402-551-4888.

 

Tours of the Historic District:  The Gold Coast Historic District is a residential area known for its beautiful turn of the century architecture. Many of the large homes and mansions were built by the early entrepreneurial families of Omaha. Renaissance Mansion:  Planning an event?  Consider the Renaissance Mansion located at 401 So. 39th Street. The mansion, built in 1913, is the historic home of Minnie Storz Higgins. Cathedral Cultural Center:  The Cultural Center is an arm of the Cathedral Arts Project, a non-profit cultural organization that sponsors an annual venue of visual and performance art programs. The Cultural Center is located to the immediate east of St. Cecilia Cathedral.  It contains an art gallery, gift shop, and museum. No admission charge.
